Overview

Job Title: Cost Controller (Subsea/Offshore experienced)

Location: Remote

Company Overview: Our client is a major civil engineering contractor that has rapidly expanded, doubling in size over the last 18 months to become a Tier 1 contractor. With a growing portfolio of high-profile projects, they are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Controller to join their expanding team.

Role Overview: As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive cost control across multiple projects. This includes budget setup, monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will play a key role in supporting project performance through accurate, timely, and value-added financial analysis, working closely with project teams and stakeholders to manage costs and identify financial risks.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report daily project costs and revenue alignment.
  • Analyze performance and identify variances against budget.
  • Reconcile forecasted vs. actual expenditures and produce accruals.
  • Coordinate changes to forecasts based on stakeholder input.
  • Assist in monthly financial close activities including cost accruals and revenue adjustments.
  • Conduct variance analysis and prepare monthly project status reports.
  • Provide Value of Work Done (VOWD) and long-term cash flow forecasts.
  • Support economic analysis and highlight financial risks.
  • Deliver detailed revenue forecasts and variance documentation.
  • Create AFPs aligned with pricing schedules for work packages.
  • Liaise with supply chain on requisitions, hire control, and goods receipting.
  • Support project closure activities including PO reconciliation and final margin reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with CSAM (preferred).
  • Experience in offshore, oil & gas, or renewables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams across entities.
