Step into a Global Expert Role with a Leading Maritime Consultancy

Ceto Talent is partnering with a well-respected Maritime & Engineering Consultancy, known for delivering critical insight and expertise during high-stakes incidents and disputes.

As part of their international growth strategy, they are now seeking an experienced Crane Engineering Consultant to join their UK-based team.

This is a remote-first position with fully expensed regular travel to London for collaboration. You’ll also play a hands-on role globally, visiting vessels, terminals, and shipyards as incidents arise.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Conduct crane damage surveys on vessels, in ports, terminals, or shipyards worldwide.
• Deliver clear, expert opinion reports, often used in high-value claims and arbitration cases.
• Collaborate with legal, insurance, and technical teams on complex investigations.
• Provide loss-prevention guidance to clients, enhancing operational safety and reliability.
• Represent and grow this specialist offering within the business through networking and presentations.

What We’re Looking For:

• A professional communicator, capable of drafting high-quality technical reports and building trust with clients.
• Background in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or as a Master Mariner/Chief Engineer with hands-on experience of shipboard crane systems.
• Ideally from a crane OEM or ship operator background, with detailed knowledge of:

-Crane types and designs

-Construction methods

-Wire rope specs and load dynamics

• Experience in crane failure investigation, incident reporting, and root cause analysis.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to support business development in this specialist domain.
• Flexible remote work from anywhere in the UK
• Fully expensed travel to London and international sites
