Cyber Security Consultant | £70,000 - £85,000 | Remote with travel to client sites | Permanent | SC Cleared (DV desirable)
Our client, a leading consultancy in the defence and nuclear sectors, is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join their growing practice. You will play a key role in delivering risk investigation and cyber security projects, initially focused on the nuclear industry with opportunities to expand into defence, security, and wider consultancy work. This role offers autonomy, opportunities to influence senior stakeholders, and to shape cyber strategy across critical national infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cyber risk investigations and provide expert consultancy across nuclear, defence, and security projects.
- Work independently and confidently in client environments, delivering solutions with minimal supervision.
- Apply industry standards and frameworks such as BS EN IEC 62443 and ISACA methodologies.
- Engage with stakeholders across Defence and Government organisations.
- Support the delivery of secure, compliant, and resilient systems across highly regulated industries.
- Bring consultancy best practices, influencing technical direction and business outcomes.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing and mentoring across internal and client teams.
Requirements
- Over 5 years' experience in cyber security, backed by a recognised certification (CISM, CISSP, MCIISec).
- Current SC clearance (minimum); DV clearance highly desirable.
- Strong consultancy background with experience in client-facing roles.
- Knowledge of risk frameworks and cyber security in nuclear, defence, and government contexts.
- Confident operating unsupported and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required (expenses covered).
Desired Skills
- Experience within the nuclear industry.
- Knowledge of BS EN IEC 62443 standards.
- Familiarity with CyBOK skillsets and chartered/ISACA qualifications.
- Background in Defence & Security or ex-military environments.
