About the Role

The Data Mapping & Integration Analyst (Contract) will be a pivotal member of our client's technology transformation team, supporting a major application rebuild initiative. This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of data structures, integration, and mapping processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining how data flows across the new platform, ensuring seamless data transfer, accuracy, and integrity from source systems to the central data environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strategic project that aims to modernize and optimize the company's data architecture, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and analytical capabilities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data analysis, data modelling, and system integration. Proven experience in application rebuilds, data migration projects, or similar environments is essential. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in relational databases, particularly SQL, along with familiarity with semi-structured data formats such as JSON. A solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lineage is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams are crucial. Prior experience working within complex operational environments such as retail, manufacturing, property, or ERP/CPQ systems will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and document existing data structures, including JSON-based and SQL sources, to understand current data flows and dependencies.
• Design and define the target data model, including establishing entity relationships, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation.
• Develop comprehensive source-to-target mappings that facilitate data migration, system integration, and future scalability.
• Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and business subject matter experts to ensure the data model aligns with operational and analytical needs.
• Identify potential data quality issues early in the project lifecycle and implement strategies for resolution.
• Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, data governance standards, and detailed specifications for data integration processes.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for data within the application rebuild project, ensuring data considerations are integrated from design through delivery.
