Our client is a Microsoft Partner Consultancy specializing in delivering modern data platform, cloud, and analytics solutions. With a strong focus on Azure technologies, the company helps organizations modernize their data environments, unlock business insights, and enable scalable, secure cloud architectures. You’ll be joining a collaborative, high‑performing team passionate about innovation, data strategy, and excellence in delivery.

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to design and implement end‑to‑end data solutions on the Azure platform. This is a contract role (initial 6 months), ideal for a hands‑on technical architect who can translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high‑performing data architectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement data architecture solutions leveraging Azure Data Services.
  • Define data models, integration patterns, and governance frameworks aligned with best practices.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to assess business needs and translate them into technical designs.
  • Lead architecture reviews, ensure scalability, security, and cost optimisation across data platforms.
  • Guide and mentor data engineers and developers through design and implementation phases.
  • Contribute to data strategy, roadmap planning, and architectural standards for client projects.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance regulations.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect, ideally within a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across the Azure data ecosystem, including: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL DB, Data Lake, Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Experience designing data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, metadata management, and data governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Microsoft certifications are highly desirable.
