About the Team
Led by our Architecture Lead Brendan, you’ll be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team of Architects and Consultants that are deeply passionate about turning bold enterprise visions into smart, scalable solutions. As a key pillar of our Consulting Division, the Architecture team plays a major role in our growth story— influencing high-impact digital transformations across various industries. The Role
As a Data Architect (Principal / Manager level) at Envitia, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions for our clients. Working within our consulting division, you’ll be responsible for taking projects from concept through to delivery, supporting public sector and defence organisations with mission-critical outcomes.
You’ll also help shape Envitia’s future by contributing to our capability framework—developing methodologies, frameworks, and proof-of-concept demonstrators that strengthen our intellectual property and market offering.
Beyond delivery, you’ll support business development activities by guiding the technical aspects of proposals, from defining solution approaches to estimating effort and costs. You’ll also represent Envitia at industry events and conferences, showcasing our solutions and thought leadership to the wider community.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather and analyse requirements to design tailored data solutions for customers.
- Develop data strategies and governance frameworks to drive organisational data transformation.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of modern data architectures across various technologies and platforms.
- Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
- Provide technical leadership, ensuring solutions align with client needs and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the design and development of managed services for Envitia and its clients.
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases for proposed solutions.
Skills Required
Essential:
- Strong expertise in data architecture, including data modelling, analysis, transformation, migration, metadata, and master data management.
- Experienced delivering data analytics solutions and supporting AI initiatives.
- Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms, ideally AWS (S3, Kinesis, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, EMR) and/or Azure (ADF, Synapse, Fabric, AzureFunctions).
- Familiarity with modern data lakehouse environments such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric (highly desirable).
- Experience with Palantir Foundry or Gotham is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications, such as DAMA or DCAM.
Core Competencies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex solutions clearly.
- Proven track record working with Defence or Central Government clients.
- Experience leading large-scale transformation projects and securing approvals through governance forums such as Technical Design Authorities.
Security Clearance Requirements
The successful candidate must hold or be required to go through an SC security clearance.
Location
The role will require travel to our Horsham offices two days a month and travel to customer sites when required.
