Data Centre BMS Engineer

Ensure all environmental conditions are maintained at all times with regard to critical building systems. To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all BMS & EMS Systems within the site that interface with the mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems. Key Tasks
Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all BMS & EMS systems plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists. Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. Ensure that all calibration activities are carried out to all BMS Systems and Sensors in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists. Ensure plant faults and defects are always swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order. Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. Provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works. Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the Contract Support. Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared, and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times. Develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE staff, subcontractors and the client representatives. Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. Wearing of uniform and PPE at all times. Present the professional image of CBRE to clients at all times. Keep up to date logs at all times. Supervise and monitor subcontractors’ works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance. Undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training. Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate. Ensure tasks are completed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation. Ensure awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s. Keep Computer Based Maintenance systems, e.g. Cerm View, Remedy, Concept, up to date and ensure PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured. Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with CBRE Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements (or approved client system). Perform any other task as directed by the account management team.
Qualifications
Electrical Engineer / City & Guilds qualification in Electrical or BTEC, ONC, or City & Guilds, or equivalent ideally with a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship or significant experience. Multi-Skilled – Mechanical / Electrical Knowledge of UPS / Generators / Power Distribution / HVAC. Experience of working in a Data Centre Environment. Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Accountabilities
Accountable to Day Supervisor and Campus Manager. The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.
