As a Data Consultant, you will be a key member of our Data Services team, supporting both our external client projects and internal product analytics workstreams. This role is a fantastic opportunity to develop a broad, multifunctional data skillset. You will have the chance to work across the full data lifecycle, from assisting with web analytics tracking and data pipelines to building insightful reports and dashboards in Power BI and Looker.
We are looking for someone with a passion for turning data into clear, visual stories that deliver real value. Working closely with senior members of the team, you will help translate business questions into analytical solutions. You will be encouraged to stay curious about emerging technologies, including AI, and contribute your ideas to help our team continuously improve and deliver cutting-edge solutions in the luxury hospitality and retail sectors.
Some key areas you’ll be working on:
As a Data Consultant, you will work within a cross-functional team of data specialists to help our clients and internal teams make better, data-driven decisions. You will support a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and a diverse client portfolio.
This role is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical and consulting skills under the guidance of experienced colleagues. Your responsibilities will include:
Developing & Maintaining BI Solutions: Build, maintain, QA and enhance reports and dashboards in BI tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI) to meet evolving client and internal business requirements.
Data Analysis & Querying: Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from various sources, ensuring the data is accurate and ready for reporting.
Client & Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with senior team members to engage with client stakeholders, helping to understand their business challenges and gather requirements for data solutions.
Web & Product Analytics: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of web & product analytics tracking (e.g., Google Analytics, PostHog) for client solutions, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Data Engineering, Science, and AI teams to support the development and deployment of stable and performant data solutions.
Team Contribution: Support the data team in client presentations and workshops by preparing materials, performing quality assurance on analyses, and helping to demonstrate findings.
Learning and Innovation: Stay curious about new tools and techniques in data and AI. Support the team in exploring how emerging technologies can be applied to our client solutions.
Important to have:
- BI Tools (e.g., Looker, PowerBI) for creating custom client reports and dashboards
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis
- Scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- ETL tools (e.g. Airbyte, FiveTran, Data Factory, AWS Glue) to extract and store data
- Utilisation of web & product analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, PostHog)
- Databricks
- Working in cloud environments (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- Experience with code management (e.g. Git)
- JIRA
- Excellent communicator to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; able to turn business objectives into technical solutions
- Organised and methodical, with strong project management skills
- Passionate about quality, standards, and continuous improvement
- Team player and collaborator, with the ability to lead and motivate others
Essential qualifications:
- Bachelors or higher degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Project Management) or equivalent commercial experience
- This position would be well-suited to a recent graduate who has gained some experience in a commercial role
