Overview

Data Consultant role at WSP. Join our Intelligent Infrastructure team to support transport clients with data analytics, data management practices and cloud-based implementation.

What you will do

  • Lead tasks as part of a team on projects to provide client facing advisory and assurance services, mainly working with spatial data analysis including GIS
  • Collaborate with clients, partners, and supply chains to solve complex business and technical problems
  • Lead small teams to implement data engineering, analytics and reporting solutions
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop data science models to uncover insights
  • Support development of data strategy and roadmaps for data initiatives and solution design for clients
  • Act as a technical authority and provide assurance services
  • Contribute to proposals and help plan and deliver work within a project or programme environment
  • Act as a Data champion within the team and in global networks, providing mentorship and guidance across projects and bids

What we are looking for

  • Undergraduate or higher degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience in spatial data analysis, including GIS data analysis and proficiency with GIS tools
  • Experience delivering technical tasks within data projects
  • Client-facing experience such as gathering requirements, presenting analysis, or facilitating testing of solutions
  • Conducting discovery activities and working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving
  • Experience with data tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, etc
  • Delivery of data reporting solutions using Power BI or other BI tools
  • Exposure to data management best practices, including data quality
  • Development of data documentation for data processes and solutions
