Offices in Cardiff and Swansea; the organisation is in a period of growth and is looking for a Data Scientist to join the team.The role reports to the CEO and involves identifying areas for improvement, solving business problems, and delivering accurate and detailed results across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The role is based in the Swansea office with hybrid remote options and flexible days as required by the business.ResponsibilitiesMining data from a variety of company databases and systemsPreparation of data for analysisData analysis and interpretation, identifying patterns and potential insightsStatistical modelling and using machine learning techniques to identify trends and make forecastsEvaluating model performance using different metrics and refining models to improve performanceCreating visual representations of data, including graphs, dashboards and chartsPresenting findings to senior management and stakeholders to help the business solve problems and improve operationsWorking collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify needs, communicate data‑driven recommendations and create actionable plansUsing data to identify future potential business problemsKeeping abreast of and evaluating new technologies and tools used for data analysisEnsuring data is collected, stored and used ethically and responsiblyRequirementsThis is a senior position requiring extensive experience and proven resultsMasters degree in data science, applied data science or related field preferredExperience with database systems, SQL and full proficiency in Power BIMathematically minded with solid knowledge of statistical methods and probabilityExperience with various machine learning algorithms and frameworksAnalytical with strong problem‑solving abilityDetail‑oriented with a solid sense of urgencyExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data results to internal stakeholdersGood presentation skills and ability to create effective visual representations of findingsA team playerPrevious project experienceIn ReturnThis is a senior position in a large and growing organisation offering a high level of responsibility and opportunities.
