Data Scientist – Energy Markets & Forecasting

I’m working with a high-calibre climate tech startup, founded by ex-traders and quants and backed by tier-1 VCs, to hire a Data Scientist. Their mission: build real-time infrastructure to decarbonise the grid by optimising energy flows across markets.

The role:

You’ll design, build, and deploy forecasting models using high-frequency, noisy datasets — working closely with traders, engineers, and market experts to get models into production.

They’re looking for:

• Exceptional academic background (Maths, Physics, Engineering, CS – Oxbridge/Imperial/top global)
• Experience in time-series analysis, forecasting, or signal processing
• Strong Python skills & production-level coding
• Systems-level thinker with commercial awareness
• (Bonus) Energy markets, trading, or large-scale optimisation exposure
