What you will do

As ourDataTech Lead, you will:
- LeadandelevateourData functionandteamto the next level, which encompassesthree disciplines:
- Data Engineering
- Data Science
- Data Analytics
- Understandthe whole context of thebusinessand how data is generated, processed, and leveraged around it. Find and analyze primary data sources/providers and analyze the grade of overlap between them.
- Build,test, andmeasuredata-based tools (e.g., Search Engine, recommender systems) and models (e.g., AI / Machine Learning) to exploit our data asset. This is actually a role that entailsrolling upyoursleevesat atechnicallevel while thinkingstrategicallyabout the growth of Data at FounderNest.
- Work hand in hand with ourProductEngineeringteam in designing and building data pipelines, and withData Intelligencein data exploitation for business and product analytics.
What you will bring
- You have4+ yearsof experience inData Engineeringand/orDataScience, ideally at aproduct-drivenfast-pacedtechstartup, wheredatais not an enabler but itscore.
- You arepragmaticand always prioritize the mostleanandagileapproach to each problem, whether it involves you deploying a cutting-edge AI model or simply building a prototype in a spreadsheet.
- You have anexperiment-first attitudewith the goal of exploring opportunities that seem risky but which have the potential forexponential impact.
- You have a natural ability to takeownershipandleadwith an informedsenseofurgencywithout being asked to.
- You always prioritize thecreationofvaluefor ourcustomersand ourbusiness, even if that entails having to learn new skills, work in unfamiliar territories, or support other areas.
- You are wired by anunstoppableexcitement andhungerforlearningand stayingup-to-dateabout new trends in the Data and AI space and are continuously musing on how we can leverage them to achieve our company goals.
- You canput yourself in others’ shoesand see situations from perspectives other than your own.
- You havestrong oralandwrittencommunication skills inEnglish. Spanish is a plus.
- StrongSQLknowledge.
- Strong knowledge ofPythonor a similar language.
- Experience building and scaling large data sets (i.e. working with Big Data).
- Deep understanding of Data Engineering practices (e.g. lifecycle, undercurrents, etc).
- Experience dealing with entity merging processes.
- Experience building data pipelines (e.g. ETL, ELT).
- Experience building, training, evaluating, deploying, and fine-tuningAI models.
- Experience working withLLMs.
Bonus Points
- Experience withsemantic search,NLP,vectorial databases, andembeddings.
- Experience withsearch enginesand how AI can be applied to power them.

Hiring process
