Location: London, Birmingham, or Manchester
Contract: 6-Month Secondment

We’re excited to announce a fantastic internal opportunity at QAHE for the role of Dean of Learner Skills Development & Retention. This is a pivotal leadership position focused on shaping the future of learner success and retention across our campuses and university partnerships.

About the Role

As Dean, you’ll lead the Faculty team dedicated to Learner Skills Development, driving strategic academic initiatives that align with QAHE’s mission to deliver outstanding student outcomes. You’ll play a key role in enhancing retention, engagement, and academic performance across diverse student cohorts.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage Learner Skills Development across all campuses and partner institutions.
Champion retention strategies to improve student experience and B3 metrics.
Design and implement processes that support student engagement and progression.
Drive innovation in programme development and revalidation aligned with retention goals.
Foster strong relationships with university partners and internal stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate academic performance against learner development initiatives.
Promote excellence across faculties through targeted initiatives and quality assurance.
Ensure effective administrative systems and budget compliance in line with institutional policy.
What We’re Looking For

Proven leadership at Associate Dean level (or equivalent), with a strong track record in learner skills and retention.
Experience working within private-public HE partnerships.
Expertise in designing and delivering skills-focused workshops.
Demonstrated success in supporting diverse student groups, including international and widening participation cohorts.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams
Strong background in quality assurance and policy development in HE.
Experience managing diverse academic teams with a commitment to excellence.
