The Role
The Delegate Sales Executive position is ideal for an ambitious, early‑career professional looking to build a career in B2B sales within the financial information and events industry. You’ll be responsible for driving delegate sales across SCI’s global events portfolio, engaging with senior professionals, and promoting SCI’s highly regarded conferences and training sessions.
While prior sales experience (e.g., as a Business Development Representative or in event sales) is advantageous, we’re also open to candidates with strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and a proactive, results‑driven mindset who are ready to learn and succeed in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Engage with new and existing clients to secure delegate places across SCI’s event portfolio.
- Make 40–60 outbound calls daily and use multiple channels (telephone, email, LinkedIn) to pitch events and close sales.
- Maintain accurate client information and sales activity in HubSpot (or similar CRM).
- Proactively identify new business opportunities and build a strong pipeline of qualified leads.
- Leverage referrals and cross‑sell SCI’s full range of products and services.
- Prioritize and manage sales opportunities effectively, reporting on progress to support business strategy.
- Support broader sales and operations initiatives when required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience: Ideally 6–18 months in a sales or business development role (e.g., delegate sales, B2B sales, events sales, or inside sales). Graduates with relevant skills and strong motivation will also be considered.
- Sales‑Driven Mindset: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets.
- Client‑Focused: Strong relationship‑building skills with a focus on long‑term partnerships.
- Strategic Selling: Familiarity with subscription‑based or recurring‑revenue sales models is a plus.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using HubSpot or similar tools to manage pipelines and track performance.
- Industry Interest: Genuine curiosity or developing knowledge of structured finance, CLOs, ABS, or private credit markets.
