Binnies, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Delivery Director (or Delivery Manager, depending on experience) to join our growing Water Services South team. We are looking for a passionate individual with strong commercial management skills and great leadership qualities. This delivery leader will oversee and grow a portfolio of projects across key UK water client frameworks in the South of England. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for delivery performance, resource planning, strategic direction, and client relationship management. The role will report to the Water Services South Director within Binnies’ Water Services Business.
Our Water Services team works across the full project lifecycle, providing consultancy and engineering expertise to the regulated water industry. This role will be central to strengthening our project delivery capability, driving performance and nurturing trusted partnerships with clients such as Thames Water and Southern Water – as well as supporting expansion into new frameworks and emerging markets.
Responsibilities
- Plan, executes, monitors and controls projects in terms of scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk procurement and stakeholder management across multiple projects of medium to high complexity
- Contract management across multiple contracts/frameworks
- Ensures project teams deliver projects to the As-Sold financial metrics or better
- Balance the needs of multiple projects across the Regional Projects portfolio.
- Leadership of a team of resources to service multiple projects or frameworks, including strategic growth and direction
- Organise and chair professional client meetings, including business development activities
- Understand the customer’s basic and performance requirements and formulate a scope of work that adds value for our customers and Binnies
- Assess the technical and commercial risk of projects
- Lead project pursuits and bids as Bid Manager or Bid Director and create and review proposals and costings for new opportunities
The role would be suitable for an individual with a proven track record in the successful delivery of water projects. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- Professional qualification in an engineering discipline
- Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) discipline
- Proven ability to plan, execute, monitor, control and direct projects in terms of scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management
- Leadership skills to manage project teams and create positive change
- Ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple priorities
- Proactive and methodical approach to problem solving as an individual and as part of a team with a desire to find a solution
- Demonstrated customer-facing success in project delivery and business development
- Collaborative individual that effectively builds teams
- Liaison with internal and external clients to develop relationships across the business
- Excellent communicator with staff, clients, joint venture partners and stakeholders
- Understanding of consultancy commercial models
