Summary
Seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to oversee the maintenance, development, and continuous improvement of multiple digital platforms and websites. The role involves managing suppliers, coordinating internal stakeholders, and ensuring that all digital services remain secure, accessible, high-performing, and aligned with organisational objectives.
The Delivery Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth delivery across multiple workstreams, leading cross‑functional teams, and driving enhancements that improve user experience and business value. This position requires strong digital delivery skills, stakeholder management expertise, and experience managing third‑party suppliers or technical partners.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of website maintenance, enhancement, and hosting services across Genomics England’s digital platforms.
Oversee the full delivery lifecycle — planning, backlog prioritisation, sprint management, testing, deployment, and post‑launch review.
Manage the roadmap for continuous improvement of the corporate and Generation Study websites.
Coordinate the delivery of a new CraftCMS‑based website, ensuring it meets user, technical, and organisational requirements.
Act as the primary liaison between Genomics England and external suppliers to ensure performance against SLAs and KPIs.
Conduct regular supplier reviews, manage issue resolution, and ensure contract compliance.
Ensure all web development adheres to accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), security, and data protection standards.
Collaborate with internal teams (Communications, IT, Security, Data Protection) to align delivery priorities.
Monitor hosting performance, patching, and security updates across all sites.
Manage budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Provide clear progress reporting to senior stakeholders and governance boards.
Champion user‑centred design and continuous improvement practices.
Support procurement activities related to the new contract period and supplier transitions.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in project management, digital media, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Digital Project Manager, or equivalent in managing website or digital service delivery.
Strong understanding of CMS platforms (preferably CraftCMS) and web hosting environments.
Experience in supplier and contract management within complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
Strong knowledge of Agile and Lean delivery methodologies.
Experience delivering projects with a focus on accessibility, usability, and performance optimisation.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
Experience managing budgets, risks, and dependencies in multi‑phase projects.
Familiarity with web security, patching, and compliance processes.
Experience working with public sector or research organisations is highly advantageous.
Understanding of DevOps, hosting, and cloud infrastructure principles (desirable).
