Recruit 121 are excited to be securing a Deputy CEO for a Marketing & Communications & Business development Consultancy based in London.
This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is ambitious and driven with an astute knowledge of Financial Services & Technology Focus as well as capital markets but comes from a marketing and communications background.
As Deputy CEO, you’ll partner closely with the CEO to shape strategy, master client relationships, and drive operational excellence across all three business areas in order to take over the role.
My client is a specialist marketing and communications B2B fintech consultancy working at the sharp end of business development, marketing, and communications for start-ups, scaleups, global organisations and industry associations. Their client base is based in the UK and around the world.
My client is entering a new exciting phase of expansion and is looking for the new CEO to support the business in its next stage of growth.

- Lead the business development effort and the successful negotiations, and partnerships with senior client stakeholders.
- Lead and inspire the leadership team and the wider organisation.
- Take an industry profile as an ambassador for the organisation and understand the personal expectations of how you show up as a highly professional CEO of a successful business and take full, appropriate advantage of the privilege and opportunities that this presents.
- Identify and secure new revenue streams while protecting and growing existing accounts.
- Engage with our senior clients to ensure that they are satisfied that the team is delivering excellent results.
- Manage the personnel, performance and development of the organisation as a whole.
Essential Experience & Skills
- 3-5 years’ of senior leadership experience, ideally having successfully led and grown a P&L.
- Experience in the B2B financial services and/or technology markets, ideally with some experience of capital markets
- Experience and proven understanding of how agencies / consultancies operate and the commercial considerations at play
- Exceptional ability to build and sustain senior-level relationships that translate into commercial success.
- Commercial instinct, understanding of the ideal blend of will and humility, strategic thinking, and a bias for results.
- Respect and alignment with the values of the organisation.
This role is remote but you will be required to network and attend events in London on a regular basis and travel will not be covered so ideally you will be based in the area.
The package is very generous with £100k, plus pension, healthcare and bonus based on pre-agreed performance targets.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven divisional or business unit leader who has track record in identifying opportunities, nurturing relationships and closing deals and is ready to step up to a broader commercial and operational remit.
You’ll have the scope to scale a high-performance consultancy, deepen market influence, and take full ownership of revenue growth — all while developing toward the CEO seat.
