Overview
We are actively involved in the design and management of major projects across the water sector, with significant opportunities from our appointment to Thames Water's Asset, Capital & Engineering framework. This is a Design Manager opportunity based in London, Cambridge, Reading or High Wycombe with hybrid working (a combination of in-office and home working).
As a Design Manager within our Major Projects community, you will oversee all aspects of delivery for major projects, coordinating design & build activities, detailed design delivery and owners engineer services. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, identify innovative and sustainable solutions, plan technical delivery, and ensure value and client service excellence. This role offers opportunities to work with Stantec’s world-class expertise to exceed client expectations and contribute to our growing mature project delivery offering in the regulated water sector.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Deliver design leadership on major projects as a Design Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Project Leader.
- Oversee design and delivery on complex, multi-disciplinary projects including design & build, detailed design, and owners engineering services.
- Collaborate with clients and partner organisations to plan technical delivery and identify innovative solutions for the water sector.
- Mentor less experienced team members and act as a trusted partner to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience providing design leadership on major projects in the water or related infrastructure sectors (Design Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer or Project Leader).
- Technical background in engineering, construction management, environmental or related consulting fields.
- Qualifications in engineering or project management with an understanding of large and complex construction/engineering projects.
- Ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders and contribute to mentoring and team development.
