Role overview
It's an exciting time for us here at Hastings Direct and a great time to join our team as we expand the reach and impact of digital analytics.
Our Digital Analytics team services approx. 150+ colleagues in the Commercial, Digital & Marketing department. The team is responsible for the digital analytics tagging implementation technologies that enable analytical insights to be generated through dashboard reporting and data visualisation.
Digital Analytics is a critical success factor for the company; helping to measure and manage the commercial performance for a wide-ranging set of digital products and customer journeys being used by over 4 million customers in the UK.
When it comes to insurance in the UK, we believe we are the most advanced digitally and we have our sights set on some amazing projects when it comes to data.
Job details
- While the day to day responsibilities of the role will be both varied and dynamic, we have managed to Identify some key areas of focus.
- Firstly, you will find yourself writing complex SQL queries to extract, transform and analyse large data sets form various data sources (mostly cloud based repositories)
- From here, you will take ownership of the reporting , analysis and stakeholder engagement across the team.
- You will use a variety of different analytics techniques to ensure the completeness, quality and consistency of the data we use.
- You will find yourself presenting data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders so the ability to simplify terms and processes will also be used.
Essential skills/experience:
- We are looking for someone who already has good exposure to a Digital Analytics role in the past, this is not for someone who is looking for an entry level role.
- With how ingrained SQL is in all our Digital Analytics processes, we require someone who is proficient in SQL.
- Also from a technical perspective, we would like to see some experience in Power BI, Looker Studio as well Web Analytics tools.
- We also require someone with a good understanding of the data layer to help with further data debugging.
- Finally, we feel our digital analytics team may provide a steep learning curve, so some experience in the General Insurance market would be a distinct advantage.

- 2nd interview involving a case study / task
