HSBC are currently searching for a Digital Product Owner to join their team in London on a 12-month contract. Within this role, you would be responsible for the development of different digital products, journeys and experiences, their implementation and continuous management/upgrade within the Global Digital Servicing domain.

The scope of Digital Products covers a broad range journeys and experiences that are offered to Global Private Banking (GPB) clients via online banking, mobile channels and staff-facing portals (incl. hybrids thereof):

  • Investments Insights, Research and associated content.
  • Digitalised onboarding processes
  • Digital Order Management System (trading, structuring, self-directed trading and payment capabilities)
  • Enhancement of Client portfolio analytics
  • Enhanced systematic approach to digital Alerts & Notifications, Next-Best-Actions and communications via approved social media channels
  • Enhancement of Client Reporting and Analysis
  • Further digitalisation of investment products and services
  • Enhancement of existing rules engines into all digital products

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, own and champion the respective Digital Product roadmap (incl. core milestones) across all relevant booking centres (UK, Guernsey, Switzerland, US, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Luxembourg)
  • Actively contributing and providing input to the further development of the GPB Digital Strategy and Proposition – based on the deep understanding of the GPB client needs
  • Outline and manage the project team to deliver the Digital Product involving all relevant stakeholders and contributors in the project team, working actively with associated Business Analysts
  • Delivering clear, high level, business requirements, breaking down requirements to deliverable units, working in an agile and collaborative way in line with Scaled Agile principles
  • Working collaboratively with group stakeholders to ensure UI and UX for new products/services are in line with mandated standards and frameworks
  • Responsibility for user testing for Digital Product, including the production of prototypes or proof of concept executions
  • Working collaboratively with business product owners and Transformation Teams to ensure proper implementation in all booking centres
  • Build strong relationships on working, middle and senior management level to pursue a collaborative project approach, to foster proper implementation and to manage change at pace with minimum conflict.
  • Regular review to identify key risks, issues and interdependencies. Suggest and apply appropriate mitigation strategies.

Key Skills

  • Profound knowledge in Private Banking, understanding of GPB client needs and behaviour in general and for the specific Digital Product – across all booking centres and for all relevant markets GPB is focusing on
  • Expertise in dealing with regulatory and legal issues, e.g. cross-border and product distribution topics, relevant for each Digital Product across all booking centres and all digital channels
  • Strong understanding of Digital business, while experience with travel, lifestyle, and/or other consumer product development is a strong advantage.
  • Deep understanding of agile delivery principles and quality software engineering processes and practices
  • Hands-on experience leading business analysts, product development teams (UX designers, software engineers and QA engineers) on projects that touch a range of technical platforms (digital, mainframe, server based etc).
  • Extensive experience with the range of product development and deployment activities including identifying opportunities, product discovery, engaging a wide range of functional experts to agree deployment approach, project execution, launch, and post launch performance measurement and management.
  • Proven ability to manage third party partners both in partnership development when required, and ongoing partner management
