We are currently seeking an individual to join the team as Director – Governance, Regulatory and Audit Engagement.

Background and Context

The Group Chief Controls Oversight Office (GCCOO) is a new oversight structure being set up to simplify and improve the effectiveness of controls through a centralised approach and proactively manage underlying risk in the First Line of Defence (1LOD). This will include providing a globally consistent approach to control standards, aggregated reporting, and testing. The team is led by the Group Chief Control Oversight Officer who reports to the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO). GCCOO is focused on creating an environment that encourages our people to speak up, do the right thing, protect our customers and the organisation, while ensuring people have the opportunity to do work that stretches them and enables them to develop personally and professionally.

The role holder will be an integral part of the GCCOO office, supporting the Group Chief Control Oversight Officer in the discharge of executive and regulatory accountabilities. Leading the management of actions, committee and meeting obligations, and the preparation of necessary papers and presentations.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Leading activities such as disseminating information, drafting presentations, co-ordination of governance paper submissions, and document filing and management.
  • Managing, planning and directing key governance schedules for the GCCOO.
  • Taking ownership of the corporate and business governance arrangements for the GCCOO.
  • Managing key interactions with the governance related activities of committees which the GCCCO is a member including the review and challenge of governance reports.
  • Managing a wide range of relationships, at the highest levels, with key internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong experience preparing committee and regulatory papers.
  • Strong experience preparing senior leaders for presenting at governance committees.
  • An effective communicator, capable of translating complex topics and ideas in a clear, comprehensible fashion.
  • Excellent research capabilities, proof reading, attention to detail and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work across a matrix, building and maintaining a successful network of global colleagues and stakeholders across a number of disciplines and various management levels.

The role location will be London with a hybrid work pattern.
