The Team

KPMG’s Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team works with industry-leading organisations, helping to solve some of the biggest challenges in infrastructure. We focus on providing clarity to organisations, including their Boards, Executives and SROs (Senior Responsible Owners), on the delivery of their projects and programmes across infrastructure sectors including transport, natural resources, energy, power and utilities, corporates, defence, health, housing & education. Our team comprises specialists with deep construction industry experience from Governments, contractors, engineering consultants and other organisations in the UK and overseas. The Role

This role is for an innovative professional at director level with significant major project and construction advisory experience. You will work to build commercially attractive propositions and assist in the delivery of services across the capital project life cycle. The Technology, Sustainability, and Innovation (TSI) cluster within MPA focuses on driving strategic and creative initiatives, developing business cases, and delivering expert guidance in technology, sustainability, and innovation. The role requires broad top-level management consultancy experience and a proactive approach to business development and client delivery. You will join a collaborative, high-performing team with diverse skills and personalities.

You will help grow, deliver, and lead the MPA business, working with our leadership team, client organisations and other KPMG teams to develop offerings and value propositions. You will provide advice to a broad range of clients on planning and implementing innovative and robust solutions. We are seeking a senior-level candidate with proven commercial acumen to identify market opportunities and drive growth, with exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders. The UK MPA team is based mainly in London, Birmingham, and Manchester; the role will be based in one of these locations with travel to client sites across the UK and occasionally overseas. Alternative KPMG UK office locations will be considered.

The Person – Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Successful candidates will have experience in four key areas:

  • Business development and an extensive personal network within the UK construction/infrastructure sector.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver successful client pitches and to develop propositions and go-to-market strategies.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify emerging market trends and opportunities; exceptional commercial acumen.
  • Experience in client delivery and engagement management, including end-to-end management of client engagements, budgeting, reporting, invoicing, and risk management.
  • Experience in leading project teams to deliver client engagements and in maintaining team wellbeing and resourcing.
  • Experience in business case development or early involvement in the capital project lifecycle, collaborating with clients to address challenges in capital project delivery.
  • Ability to build and lead joint propositions with supporting teams; strong collaborative and stakeholder management skills.
