Director, Early-Stage Clinical StatisticianLocation: Remote, United KingdomCompany: Global Biopharmaceutical CompanyAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Director of Early-Stage Clinical Statistician to join a leading global pharmaceutical organisation focused on innovative drug development across multiple therapeutic areas. This senior role will provide strategic statistical leadership for early-phase clinical programs (Phase I–II), shaping clinical development plans and ensuring high‑quality statistical input across all study activities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead statistical strategy for early‑stage clinical studies, from protocol design through reporting.Act as the primary statistical expert within cross‑functional project teams, providing guidance on study design, endpoints, sample size, and analysis approaches.Oversee statistical analyses, interpretation of results, and preparation of regulatory‑compliant deliverables.Contribute to development plans, decision‑making strategies, and go/no‑go criteria for early‑stage assets.Ensure robust statistical methodology and alignment with regulatory standards (EMA, FDA, MHRA).Mentor and guide biostatisticians and statistical programmers across the portfolio.Collaborate closely with clinical development, data management, regulatory affairs, and medical writing teams.RequirementsMSc or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline.Significant industry experience (10+ years) in biostatistics, including leadership responsibility.Proven expertise in early‑phase clinical development and complex trial design.Strong understanding of ICH guidelines and regulatory expectations.Proficiency in statistical software (SAS required; R an advantage).Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.Experience working in a global matrix environment.Eligible to work remotely within the UK.How to ApplyIf you’re a strategic biostatistics leader passionate about advancing early‑stage drug development, we’d love to hear from you.
