We are seeking an exceptional leader to drive the development and growth of new and established data and insights products and services in the Higher Education (HE) sector, working for the preeminent education and public services consulting firm in the UK. This role requires proven expertise in HE, business growth, and data analytics, combined with a passion for helping university clients use data to make informed decisions to support their academic mission.
Responsibilities include leading sales conversations as an expert in both established and future data solutions that assist universities in improving education delivery and student experience. This role involves engaging with senior academic leaders, developing thought leadership, nurturing a network of academic clients, and collaborating with the marketing team to generate new business. You will also manage product demonstrations, address client inquiries, develop high-quality sales materials, and finalise contracts.
You will oversee client onboarding, provide oversight across delivery programmes, manage senior client relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality reports and advice. You will act as a subject matter expert to shape the future product development roadmap by capturing customer needs and defining new features. You will also mentor and provide development support and guidance to junior team members.

As Nous Data Insights Director you will:
Take prime responsibility for driving growth and ensuring successful delivery ofNous Data Insights’ university professional services data solutions in the UK.
- Lead sales as a product expert on current and future products, helping universities enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their professional administrative services and resourcing, while building the sales skills of the Nous Data Insights team.
- Engage with senior university leaders (especially COOs, CFOs, transformation leads etc.) as a peer and expert on service improvement, transformation and efficiency matters, and nurture and develop this network of current and prospective clients.
- Develop thought leadership that engages clients and promotes our products.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to shape and guide delivery of marketing campaigns and development of high-quality sales materials and proposals to grow the pipeline of clients.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, including running product demonstrations and deep dives with senior executives, developing compelling proposals, and executing contracts.
Delivery:
- Oversee the onboarding of new clients, working with delivery teams (spanning NDI and client members), executive sponsors and key client stakeholders to ensure clients are set up for success.
- Oversee the delivery team to ensure the delivery of high-quality reports, advice and services to clients, and lead presentations of results to senior clients.
- Manage senior client relationships, taking lead responsibility for defining ‘what success looks like’ for each existing and new client and helping them maximise value from the data and insights.
- Provide strategic advice to clients on their resourcing and design of professional services, building on the data and insights from our data solutions.
- Support the regional UK & EU Managing Director to ensure financial performance, e.g. by ensuring effective use of resources across relevant strands of delivery.
- Continually look to innovate and improve internal methods of delivery.
Product:
- Act as subject matter expert to shape the future product development roadmap by capturing customer needs, defining new features and insights.
Skills and experience:
- Expert in higher education, including design, improvement and transformation of professional services – whether from experience working for or with universities, in the UK or globally.
- Strong commercial mindset, with demonstrated experience developing client relationships and securing new business through strategic positioning of product-based offerings, backed by strong commercial acumen, ideally in a product/technology related environment.
- Proven experience overseeing a complex program of activity and delivering data-led solutions and insights for clients, ideally in a consulting environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a proficiency in data analysis and visualisation techniques, enabling the conversion of complex data sets into actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Outstanding communication and team management skills.
- A strong interest in global higher education and a clear vision for how data can be used to better support institutions, staff, and students.
- Knowledge of education technology trends and data analytics (desirable).
