Distinguished Engineer – Intelligent Document Processing

London (Hybrid) – Senior Director of AI / Distinguished Engineer

We are a global AI product company building real‑time document processing for regulated enterprise environments. This is a hands‑on architectural mandate focused on production delivery, not a traditional team‑leadership role.

Core responsibilities

• Lead architectural design of scalable document intelligence systems
• Build and optimise full LLM pipelines, from ingestion to inference to orchestration
• Design systems to operate across regions, industries, and compliance frameworks
• Collaborate with a 20–30 person technical group across ML, backend, and infra engineering
• Define standards for performance, cost‑efficiency, and model governance at scale

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and deploying production‑grade LLM platforms
• Deep background in intelligent document processing, OCR, or data extraction pipelines
• Experience in retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) or agentic AI frameworks
• Experience deploying models in latency‑sensitive, compliance‑heavy environments
• History of building within product companies or platform teams (not consultancies)
• Strong technical leadership and architectural ownership

Compensation reflects scope: up to £1,000,000 total comp.
