Type: Day Rate Contract (Negotiable, dependent on experience)

Duration: 6 months (with strong potential to extend to 12+ months)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) Consultant to support the implementation and optimisation of a new finance system for one of our Glasgow-based clients. This initiative aims to standardise forecasting and revenue recognition processes across multiple long-term projects.

The client is currently working with a Microsoft Gold Partner who has begun building their Business Central platform. However, challenges have emerged with elements of the current solution and implementation plan, requiring a seasoned consultant to provide strategic oversight, technical expertise, and stakeholder alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Oversight: Review, assess, and guide the ongoing Business Central implementation to ensure alignment with business objectives and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior finance stakeholders to understand requirements, communicate progress, and drive consensus across teams.
  • Partner Management: Challenge and collaborate with the existing Microsoft Partner to ensure quality, scalability, and proper governance of the D365 solution.
  • Process Improvement: Analyse the current finance processes and design solutions to standardise forecasting, revenue recognition, and reporting.
  • Hands-On Implementation: Where required, take a practical role in configuring, customising, and optimising Business Central functionality.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee testing, documentation, and deployment activities to ensure a stable and effective rollout.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) across multiple clients or environments.
  • Strong understanding of finance processes including revenue recognition, forecasting, and project accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead implementations, from requirements gathering through to design, development & deployment.
  • Experience managing third-party partners or vendors within a D365 context.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with senior finance professionals.
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on design and development when necessary.

To be considered for this opportunity please apply today and Sophie will be in touch with more information.
