As a Software Developer II, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of software solutions by applying technical expertise and problem-solving skills. You will work under general supervision to develop and integrate software components while ensuring alignment with business requirements and system architecture. Your role will involve collaborating with product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to implement innovative features and modifications. With frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, and theories, you will provide solutions to moderately complex software development challenges. You will also support architectural vision by experimenting with alternative approaches and validating designs against technical requirements.
The proposed salary range for this position is $95,465-$120,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, test, and maintain software solutions in alignment with system architecture and business needs
Collaborate with product developers, product managers, and customer application experts to implement new features and modifications
Assist in defining software architecture, creating models, and documenting component specifications
Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex technical issues to ensure system stability and performance
Optimize existing software solutions by refining code, improving efficiency, and enhancing scalability
Provide technical advice and recommendations to other departments within the organization
Contribute to research efforts and technical assistance for a user group or internal teams
Support the integration of software components built by various development teams
Ensure software quality through rigorous testing and adherence to development best practices
Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions
Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area
Participate in growth efforts as requested
Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on)
Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients
Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements
Perform other related duties as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar with 2-4 years of experience
Proficiency in software development, including experience with object-oriented programming and version control
Ability to provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing software performance
Effective communication and collaboration skills within a cross-functional team environment
Experience with software testing, debugging, and documentation best practices
8570 certification (I.e. Security+, CISSP, CEH, CISM) IAT Level 2 or above for IT technical fields
Professional experience using cybersecurity and open-source technology
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Agile development methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Familiarity with cloud computing, microservices, and distributed systems
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
Knowledge of API development, database management, and system integration
Exposure to cybersecurity principles, secure coding practices, and regulatory compliance in software development
