Job Description

Position Title: EDS CAD Electrical Installation Designer

Duration: Contract

Location: Hybrid Working - 3 Days on site in Milton Keynes (Outside IR35)

Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, ongoing, and valid eligibility to work full-time in the UK and travel within the EU.

Essential Criteria:

• The role involves end-to-end electrical design for integrating electrical systems.
• Systems Engineering: Capturing requirements, blue sky thinking, problem solving, electrical architecture, component selection, layout, and feasibility.
• Detail Design: 3D CAD (UG NX) including concept schemes, packaging, cable routing, component placement.
• 2D Electrical Circuits: Schematics, logical architecture, wire gauge calculations, fusing, electrical functionality, I/O documentation, simulation.
• 2D Manufacturing: Drawings, build lists, wiring instructions, BOM, supplier selection, costings, planning.
• Support: Physical validation, build support, snag correction, fault investigation, cost reductions, reworks, reporting.
• CAD Data and Design: Extensive experience with NX and Teamcenter, harness routing, sensor termination, manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have Criteria:

• Understanding of CAD and UG NX systems at customer sites.
• Control of CAD records and data supporting projects.
• Maintaining drawing controls to TS standards and advising on best practices.
• Coordinating drawing changes and customer requirements.
• Designing and modeling components and system installations to meet customer satisfaction.
• Managing workload and documentation, maintaining confidentiality.
• Support at customer locations for 2D and 3D product data.
• Understanding of automotive electrical distribution systems and industry best practices.
• Controlling, recording, and implementing engineering changes to harness drawings.
• Producing BOMs and supporting other departments.

Additional Information:

• Minimum 1-3 years experience in electrical routing & packaging design, Motorsport/Autosport connector usage, BOM experience, folded metalwork & bracketry, BOB design, Siemens Capital.
