Our client, an engineering company, is seeking a Lead EC&I Engineer (Electrical Controls and Instrumentation) for a permanent position in Warrington. This role is within industries such as Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, or other highly regulated sectors.
Role
This role involves being the Lead EC&I Engineer for one or more projects, managing and completing the EC&I engineering and design, including change control and ensuring consistency across disciplines.
Responsibilities
As a Lead EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for the EC&I design within engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects, acting as the technical authority for the discipline.
Projects will mainly be in the UK, but you will also work on projects across Europe, covering the full lifecycle from concept to commissioning in both greenfield and brownfield settings.
You will lead projects and coordinate EC&I engineering and design with Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation disciplines. You will also review and approve engineering estimates.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Lead EC&I Engineer in an engineering, EPCM, or EPC company within sectors like Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, or Petrochemicals.
- Deep knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with a good understanding of other disciplines such as Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, and Process.
- Experience acting as a technical authority or line manager in an engineering organization.
- MEng / BEng in EC&I Engineering.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (preferred), TUV Certification.
- Strong understanding of standards such as 7671, 7430, 61508, 61511, ATEX, DSEAR, LV, and HV.
- Proficiency with EC&I design software including AMTECH, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, Dialux, and MS Office.
