Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – £38 0000 - £40 000 salary

Robertsons Fine Foods, based in Irvine, Ayrshire (part of the Browns Food Group), is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

This is a role with autonomy and a stand-alone position that provides a full range of engineering services.

You will possess a sound knowledge of diagnosing the electrical and mechanical needs of a small food production site with over 60 employees. No shift working, just normal days.

This role directly reports to the site Manager at Robertsons Fine Foods in Irvine

Role Summary

To support the business to ensure it is delivering to its customers in the most efficient way

- Work on systems and safety circuits

- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and follow-up actions via Emaint CMMS system

- Work to provide solutions for optimum plant productivity

- Ensure suitable and sufficient replacement parts/tools and materials are always available

- maintenance and repair of building fabric when required

- Work on 3-phase distribution boards and cable containment for maintenance and installation purposes

- Manage the iAuditor app, ensuring jobs are updated accordingly

Role Description

Operations

- Identify and complete all plant and equipment PPM schedules to maximise plant availability

- Service all of the manufacturing plant, industrial machinery & equipment – /food production/packaging

- To attend to equipment breakdowns, fault find, repair, and maintain all equipment, including electrical motor drives.

Work with 3-phase motors, AC/DC drives, and electronic controls.

Health & Safety / HR

- Support a truly “Safety First” culture across the site

- Support in the control of all contractors on site and associated permits

Support site security both during and out of office hours

Required Competencies

Essential

- Latest Electrical Standards qualification.

- Strong competence level in both electrical and mechanical engineering

- Knowledge of 3-phase motors and electrical control systems

- Ability to work on own initiative, although Group support is available

- Team player, including the ability to effectively deploy the range of resources available across the Group

- A flexible and “can-do” attitude and a strong work ethic

 

Desirable

- HNC in Engineering

- Food Industry experience
