As an Electronics Design Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of advanced electrical systems within our Services and Connectivity business. Your expertise will contribute to the successful implementation of innovative solutions that enhance our product offerings and drive customer satisfaction.
You will be joining a well-established Satellite Communications team based in Tewkesbury. We create Satellite and Terrestrial communication solutions for aircraft ranging from commercial jets to autonomous drones. The multi-disciplined team includes Systems, RF, Electrical, DSP, and Network engineers all collaborating to produce exciting products. We have several technologies that operate in the L and K bands across a range of platforms. We are actively involved in Government initiatives in this domain, notably ARTES and IRIS. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Tewkesbury, UK location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
- Design circuits that meet the requirements and regulatory standards. Capable of reading and understanding schematics, design specifications and test requirements with a good attention to detail and ability to follow concise processes
- Design and develop electronic systems for satellite communication applications. This will include mixed analog and digital electronics, DC PSU’s and microcontrollers
- Designing for Thermal, Vibration and other environmental considerations
- Experience working with component suppliers, reviewing parts specifications to ensure that design goals are met. Working with Manufactures to ensure that boards are built to specification
- Collaborating with RF Wireless, Software and Mechanical teams to integrate and validate designs. A good general knowledge of Satellite Communication systems. Understanding the basic principles of communication with satellites at different orbits
- Carry out hands-on soldering, rapid prototyping, and bench testing as part of iterative development
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering. Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and systems.
- Experience with simulation and analysis tools relevant to electrical engineering. Good soldering skills (SMD and THT).
- Be familiar with the usage of common test equipment such as DMM, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analysers etc.
- Familiarity with aerospace design standards such as RTCA and ARINC. Experience with PCB Design using ECAD Tools (KiCad, Mentor Xpedition etc.).
