Location: Barrow-in-Furness/Filton - (Hybrid - 2 days a fortnight in Barrow, 1 day a week in Filton, dependent on business needs, with regular travel to other UK sites)

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage an engineering team to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment.
  2. Manage processes and reviews of technical documentation.
  3. Manage associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies.
  4. Provide advice on electrical power technical aspects across various engineering disciplines.
  5. Engage with customers and suppliers to resolve complex problems.
  6. Guide the team through the systems definition process.
  7. Mentor junior team members to develop capabilities and skills.

The Electrical Power Systems Definition team is working on the UK's next-generation SSN design, involving collaboration across the UK, Australia, and the US. The role involves leading a team of engineers in defining system elements for submarine design, including documentation, spatial modelling, and build outputs. Travel across the UK to various BAE, customer, and supplier sites is expected. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates.
