Overview

As an Engineering Manager, you'll be at the heart of transforming innovative ideas into robust, scalable, and high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and drive business success. This is a pivotal role where your leadership will shape the future of our products and engineering capabilities, making a real impact on national defence and security.

Responsibilities

  • Defining and implementing engineering frameworks aligned with global processes
  • Leading engineering management plans for key programmes
  • Championing systems engineering best practices to enhance product maturity
  • Supporting production readiness evaluations for safety, efficiency, and scalability
  • Managing design baselines and ensuring traceability throughout development

This position involves travel and working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role. This role is full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working patterns available to help you balance your professional and personal life. Travel to Babcock sites and offices will be required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in systems engineering, product development, or a similar role
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality
  • Understanding of design principles, processes, and techniques
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Accuracy in data collection and reporting
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, or related field)
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as Military Standards, ISO, or AS9100

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
