Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for shaping enterprise-scale application architecture?

We’re looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the development of application architecture strategy across a large, complex public sector organisation.

This is a hybrid contract role, working across both business and technology domains, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, innovation, and long-term capability planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the application architecture vision and roadmap.
• Lead architectural engagements across multiple business and technology domains.
• Inspire and guide a team of architects, including contractors and permanent staff.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape strategic direction and investment.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and emerging technology adoption.
• Ensure architectural outputs align with enterprise principles and deliver value.
• Support the development of investment cases and whole-life costing.
• Provide architectural assurance and contribute to procurement and supplier evaluation.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in enterprise or application architecture at a senior level.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in large-scale, federated or public sector environments.
• Deep understanding of architectural frameworks, governance, and standards.
• Ability to translate complex business needs into strategic technology solutions.
• Location: Hybrid (UK-based, with occasional on-site presence)
• IR35 Status: Inside IR35
• Duration: 6 months (initial), with potential for extension
• Start Date: ASAP
