Description

As part of our journey toward net‑zero and beyond, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental & Sustainability Business Partner to help us deliver our sustainability strategy and embed sustainability across our operations.
This is a pivotal role in driving forward our sustainability strategy and ensuring compliance with environmental standards and legislation. Working closely with colleagues across JE, regulators, contractors, and the wider community, you will help us measure, report, and enhance our performance.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborating across departments to measure and report environmental impacts, with a focus on carbon and energy reporting
Providing expert advice and support on environmental and sustainability matters for projects and business units
Supporting the development, implementation, and improvement of the company Environmental Management System
Conducting audits and assessments of contractors to ensure alignment with JE's sustainability goals
Supporting sustainable procurement and supplier engagement
Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, obligations, and best practices
Preparing KPIs and sustainability data for company reporting and ESG disclosures
Working with the Environment & Sustainability Committee to drive initiatives and engage stakeholders
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
You are an environmentally focused professional who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication skills. You are equally comfortable analysing carbon data, engaging stakeholders, or influencing change across complex organisations.
Essential skills and experience:
Degree (or equivalent) in environmental science, sustainability, or a related discipline
Proven experience working with environmental management systems (ideally ISO 14001)
Strong understanding of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and related reporting standards (e.g., SBTi, GRI)
Knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice compliance
Ability to turn sustainability strategy into practical, measurable action
Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
MIEMA (or working towards)
Lead Auditor ISO 14001 qualification
Experience in biodiversity, land management, or community-based sustainability projects
Familiarity with broader sustainability metrics such as ecosystem services and circular economy
