Overview

Join MWH Treatment as an Environment & Sustainability Manager based in Peterborough, working across the Anglian Water Region with hybrid working available. The role reports directly to the SHEA Manager and leads a team of Environment & Sustainability Advisors to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, deliver sustainable construction practices and drive continuous improvement across the @one Alliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide environmental support to construction projects, including document production and review.
  • Develop and drive sustainable working practices during construction.
  • Consult with environmental regulators and key stakeholders where required.
  • Collaborate with the @one Alliance contract to deliver AMS requirements at the appropriate design and construction stages.
  • Work closely with the Enabling team to provide technical input into mitigation measures during pre‑construction and guidance on environmental constraints and risks.
  • Communicate environmental information effectively between the Enabling Team, Advisors and Construction Teams.
  • Review and update environmental information within the AMS.
  • Ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and promote best practices relevant to @one Alliance.
  • Analyse and anticipate future legislative requirements, identifying solutions to maintain compliance with Partner Organisations.
  • Undertake the annual management review.
  • Manage and update the NCR log for environmental issues.
  • Represent and promote @one Alliance Environmental Management at key forums.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience of environmental management within the construction industry.
  • Degree in an environmental related subject.
  • Partner company management training.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: Contaminated Land, Statutory Nuisance, Waste Management, Soil Testing, Ecology, Archaeology, Carbon, Sustainability, Social Value, Incident Investigation.
