Reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager, the Environmental and Sustainability Specialist (Senior Environmental Advisor) will play a key role in implementing Telent's Sustainability Strategy and supporting Business Units to meet business waste and carbon reduction objectives, customer expectations, ISO14001, and legal requirements across our Rail and Asset Management divisions. This is an agile role with up to 50% UK-wide travel.
What you’ll do:
- Provide specialist direction and advice to EHS teams and Project leads for environment and sustainability to meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support risk management by defining an environmental assurance regime, including audit programs, through EHS inspections and audits.
- Assist in preparing sustainability and carbon reduction plans for contracts and bids.
- Develop and maintain performance data and provide carbon management reports for customer and contract needs.
- Ensure regular reviews of environmental aspects and impacts, including climate change risks.
- Support Bid, Design, and Operational Teams to embed sustainable and carbon reduction practices throughout the Project Life Cycle.
Who you are:
You will have experience in a similar Environmental & Sustainability role within relevant industries (Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, Construction).
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Qualification - PIEMA
- ISO14001:2015 Lead Auditor
- Experience providing technical sustainability and environmental advice for business operations
- Experience reducing environmental impacts of equipment and infrastructure across product lifecycle
- Experience managing complex technical and change projects
- Full driving license and flexibility for UK-wide travel
