Event Manager (Assessment)
We are seeking a highly organised, results driven individual to join our Trainee Pharmacist Assessment team and play a leading role in delivering high-profile national assessment events that help shape the future of pharmacy.
Interview dates: 16 – 17 September 2025 (GPhC offices)
Salary: Up to£50,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus benefits
Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid working approach)
Hours: 35 hours per week, from 9.00 to 5.00, Monday to Friday
The Role
This is a newly created role at the heart of a newly combined team and presents a unique opportunity to use your event management skills in a role that directly impacts public safety and supports the next generation of pharmacists. You will be at the heart of ensuring assessments are run to the highest standards, are fair for candidates, and are professionally delivered across the UK.
You will oversee the end-to-end planning and delivery of more than 80 registration assessment events across the UK twice a year. These events are the final step for trainee pharmacists to demonstrate their readiness to join the profession, making this role vital to public safety and the reputation of the GPhC.
This role is subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of our pre-employment due diligence.
The successful applicant will:
- Play a leading role in planning and delivering one of the most high-profile events in pharmacy, ensuring candidates have a smooth and professional experience using your organisation, event and project management skills.
- Possess experience of building, developing and managing the performance of teams and individuals, including the ability to motivate, influence and persuade others.
- Be experienced in producing high quality minutes, reports and policies, with the ability to manipulate data accurately.
- Possess good listening skills with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights, while taking personal ownership to deliver key tasks and objectives.
- Bring energy and drive to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and customer service - while delivering real, measurable results.
- Have an unwavering commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Benefits when joining our team
In return for their commitment and enthusiasm, employees can expect a rewarding and challenging work environment, good work-life balance and workload plus an excellent benefits package that includes:
- 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays) with the option to buy an additional 5 days.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- Career breaks and sabbaticals.
- Life assurance, season ticket loan, bike loan and many more.
