Purpose:
Climate Bonds is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Events Executive to support our events team in organising and executing our global annual events. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and passionate about event planning.
Events are a key marketing and communications channel for Climate Bonds, providing a platform for direct engagement with senior decision-makers in the Sustainable Finance sphere. The Climate Bonds CONNECT series has grown exponentially, with events held in London, New York, Mumbai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and São Paulo, among others.
The Events Executive will work with the Event Manager and broader marketing and communications team, engaging with external stakeholders such as speakers, sponsors, and internal team members.
The primary responsibilities include administrative and production support for the annual CONNECT series and smaller events, which may be in-person or online.
This role is suitable for entry-level candidates with at least one year of relevant experience, preferably in corporate events. It requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with digital event tools, and a willingness to learn and develop.
Key Relationships:
- Report directly to the Event Manager
- Engage with sponsors during sponsorship deals
- Coordinate with Climate Bonds teams and external stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and coordinating events, including venue selection, vendor management, and entertainment bookings
- Manage event logistics such as speaker and sponsor engagement, AV equipment, and venue arrangements
- Coordinate digital platforms and update website content
- Develop marketing materials and outreach strategies with the marketing team
- Serve as the main contact for attendees, vendors, and sponsors, providing excellent customer service
- Manage event registration and communication
- Support on-site and online event execution, including setup and teardown
- Conduct post-event evaluations and gather feedback
- Assist in creating event proposals and sponsorship packages
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Events, Marketing, or related Communications field
- At least one year of experience in event planning within a corporate environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours during events
- Interest in climate action and understanding of climate finance
- Ability to work in a multicultural, global team and with external stakeholders
- Adaptability under pressure
- Interest and experience with digital tools, websites, and event platforms
- Experience in planning hybrid events
