Our Client is the UK's largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. They believe that everyone has the right to connect, express, and be seen through music — regardless of disability, illness, or social exclusion. Their new strategy is built on a bold ambition: to make Nordoff and Robbins music therapy a recognised, integrated, and accessible form of health and social care across the UK.

The organisation is seeking an Executive Director of Income Generation, a newly created senior role that will shape their future income strategy and help deliver transformative impact through music therapy. Prospectus is proud to be supporting this important appointment.

Role and terms

Executive Director of Income Generation

Full time • Permanent • Hybrid — North London Office (min. 2 days per week office based) • £92,500 plus £1,500 London weighting

Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal role on the Senior Leadership Team, driving sustainable income growth and maximising the charity's profile and reach.
  • Lead the organisation toward annual income targets of £7.2m by 2026 and £9.1m by 2028, by growing philanthropic giving, legacy fundraising, major donor development, and high-value partnerships.
  • Embed robust systems, processes, and stewardship approaches to ensure financial resilience and long-term impact.
  • Shape and deliver the income strategy in line with the organisation's bold new strategy and overall mission.
  • Act as a strategic leader balancing long-term vision with short-term delivery, fostering innovation, and serving as an inspiring ambassador.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Substantial experience of leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary income generation teams at Senior Leadership level.
  • Proven track record of income growth and diversification.
  • Strong commercial acumen, deep expertise in donor engagement, and the ability to build high-value relationships across a diverse stakeholder base.
  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing long-term strategy with immediate delivery and organisational change.
