Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a Mediator at Family Mediation Services London. The Mediator will be responsible for facilitating communication and negotiation between family members, helping them reach mutually acceptable resolutions. Day-to-day tasks include conducting mediation sessions, guiding discussions, and assisting families in creating sustainable agreements. Salary is from £30K - £55K and you would can work between 6-16 hours per week flexibly.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate mediation sessions between family members to reach mutually acceptable resolutions.
- Guide discussions, assess needs, and assist in creating sustainable agreements.
- Maintain impartiality, confidentiality, and professional boundaries throughout the process.
- Coordinate with parties to schedule sessions and manage case documentation.
- Provide expert guidance on children’s issues and finances as they relate to settled agreements.
Qualifications
- Family Mediation Council registered (essential)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Conflict resolution and negotiation abilities
- Empathy and patience in dealing with sensitive family matters
- Experience in mediation or counselling
- Ability to maintain impartiality and confidentiality
- Knowledge of family law and mediation techniques
- Proficiency in problem-solving and decision-making
- Relevant certification or accreditation in mediation
