The Role & What You Will Be Doing
The Field Based Medical Advisor acts as a scientific and medical liaison between the company and healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and patient organizations. This role supports the medical and scientific strategy of Viatris by delivering education, facilitating scientific exchange, supporting clinical research, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

- Develop and maintain up-to-date expert knowledge of therapeutic areas, company products, and the competitive landscape.
- Engage in meaningful proactive and reactive peer-to-peer discussions with healthcare professionals, KOLs, and external stakeholders regarding the respective disease state via scientific exchange.
- Deliver scientific presentations and educational sessions to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in Viatris organised events, including educational and training events, advisory boards, and roundtable discussions.
- Facilitate and support clinical research initiatives and investigator-initiated studies.
- Gather and report insights from the field to inform strategic decisions and product development.
- Identify and develop relationships with new KOLs aligned with company strategy.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, global medical, and cross-functional teams to support medical strategies and tactics.
- Attend scientific congresses and industry meetings to stay updated on latest developments and maintain professional networks.
- Ensure all activities and materials comply with relevant laws, regulations, codes of practice, and company policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials in accordance with compliance guidelines
For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Medical degree, biosciences degree, or equivalent life sciences qualification.
- Previous experience in medical affairs or a related pharmaceutical/biotech role is desirable
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic areas such as pain and oncology is desirable
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build credible relationships with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK.
