Finance Business Partner

LOCATION: Flexible across NHS Scotland (agile working applicable)
CONTRACT DURATION: Fixed Term (up to12 months)
An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance Team within the Scottish Ambulance Service to cover maternity leave. As the frontline Service of the NHS in Scotland and with over 6,800 members of staff, we provide an emergency ambulance service to a population of over 5.55 million people serving all of the nation’s mainland and island communities.
Applications are sought from CCAB Qualified Accountants with significant experience and a high degree of personal resilience, especially in relation to the interpretation, application and communication of complex financial policies and decisions, often in times of change and in an exciting, turbulent and politically driven environment.
The successful candidate will be a Finance Business Partner who will report to the Deputy Director of Finance, this role provides Senior financial expertise to support the Service 3 year financial plan, to support Government Financial Planning Reporting and major new investment programs. That provide financial assurance to the Scottish Government and Service Board and Executive Team. This role also has responsibility for overall financial management of specific major new investment development programmes. The postholder will not only lead but plan, support, facilitate and monitor the progress of the new development.
They are leaders with considerable responsibility, and the ability to research and analyse complex processes. Drive, shape and influence strategic and financial decision making through innovative, expert advice and challenge.
Develop and manage effective working relationships with senior managers and clinicians across NHS Scotland which create partnerships focused on maximising value whilst mitigating risk. Deliver the expert financial advisory interface between the programmes and the Finance function and Scottish Government Finance and the wider Health & Social Care system to facilitate the delivery of strategic objectives.
The role leads specific projects and programmes of work across the Service which support national strategic policies and focus on the financial sustainability and value of services provided.
