Equifind is partnering with an established outsourced financial services firm seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its Business Services Division. This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for a technically strong finance professional with proven management experience and a track record of delivering operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of the month‑end close and reporting process, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial information for a diverse client portfolio. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll provide strong financial control, uphold compliance with IFRS, and drive continuous improvements across the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of qualified and part‑qualified accountants.
- Oversee all month‑end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate.
- Review management accounts, statutory accounts, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Act as the key escalation point for complex technical accounting issues.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and other relevant reporting standards.
- Maintain strong governance and control across all client deliverables.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency.
- Coach and develop team members, supporting their professional growth.
- Liaise with clients, building trusted and long‑term relationships.
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA).
- Strong technical accounting background with solid IFRS knowledge.
- Proven management experience, ideally in a business services or outsourced finance environment.
- Thorough understanding of month‑end close and financial reporting processes.
- Experience with LSC clients or similar structures advantageous.
- Confident communicator with strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Commercially focused with a problem‑solving mindset.
