Overview

Stanton House is partnering with a private equity backed B2B Consultancy to recruit a Financial Controller. This is an exciting time to join the business, as you will be working alongside a Fractional CFO while leading the day-to-day finance function. You will also collaborate closely with a high-calibre CEO and an ambitious private equity fund, offering exceptional exposure and outstanding opportunities for career progression. This role will be critical in ensuring that finance operations and controls run smoothly, while maintaining assertive and timely communication with senior stakeholders. It will also carry responsibility for budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

• Own daily finance operations, delivering accurate accounts and compliance reporting.
• Lead month- and year-end close with accountants, auditors, and regulators.
• Strengthen controls, processes, and systems, including Xero transition.
• Oversee and support the finance team, including the India-based resource.
• Partner with CEO, MDs, and investors to provide clear financial insights.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning for project-based revenues.
• Resolve operational finance issues to keep processes running smoothly.
• Design and implement scalable finance processes to support growth.
• Act as a hands-on finance leader, balancing operations with strategic projects.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Accountant: ACA or Audit background preferred
• Proven finance leadership: Demonstrated experience leading finance teams effectively
• ERP and systems expertise: Proficiency with ERP systems, Excel and other financial analysis tools
• Technical accounting expertise and experience leading audits
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience leading process improvement
• High attention to detail, ability to work autonomously and manage own workload
