Overview

Due to continued growth, eDynamix is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role, primarily home-based (remote) within the UK, reporting directly to the CEO and Executive Chairman. It’s a fantastic opportunity to lead the finance function of a fast-growing automotive software company and play a key role in shaping our financial strategy and processes as we continue to expand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, etc.) and ensure accurate financial records. Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements, providing insightful commentary on performance, trends, and forecasts.
  • Strategic Planning & Analysis: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes in line with growth plans. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO and Executive Chairman to inform business strategy and support data-driven decisions.
  • Compliance & Control: Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Maintain FCA regulatory compliance for financial activities. Liaise with external auditors and advisors, managing audits and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Cash Management: Manage cash flow, treasury, and banking relationships to ensure the company’s financial health. Monitor working capital and implement strategies to support continued growth and investment.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. Proactively automate or streamline workflows where possible.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration: Foster a culture of accuracy and development. Work with other departments to integrate financial considerations into the business. Serve as a key business partner to non-financial colleagues, helping them understand financial impacts and best practices.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

  • Proven Finance Experience: Minimum of 10 years in accounting/finance roles, including success as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior role. Comfortable owning the finance function at strategic and hands-on levels.
  • Automotive Industry Background (Essential): Experience in the automotive sector is mandatory, e.g., automotive dealership groups, automotive services, or automotive software/tech. Familiarity with motor trade finance or dealership accounting is essential.
  • Professional Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and FCA regulations is valued.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel. Experience with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) is a plus.
  • Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and a no-surprises control environment.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and to work with executive leadership.
  • Adaptability & Drive: Self-motivated, able to work remotely, and comfortable shaping processes in a growth environment. Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
