Vertex Associates are proud to be partnering with a leading London based media business in hiring a Financial Controller on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid position consisting of 3 days per week in their central London office.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and motivate a team of Management Accountants
• Oversee the delivery of monthly management accounts
• Act as a lead on complex areas of accounting and reporting
• Review and sign off the financial reporting packs monthly
• Review and sign off the balance sheet reconciliation files monthly
• Review reports and accounts analysis in order to understand activity within the month
• Complete recharge calculations and analysis for various entities
• Approve journals to be posted onto the finance system
• Complete payroll reconciliations and reporting for various entities
• Deliver monthly forecasts and annual budgets for various entities
• Submit budgets and forecasts
• Business partner with various stakeholders and answer queries
• Oversee the delivery of management reporting to deadlines for all entities
• Deliver financial statements for UK entities and reconcile US GAAP to UK GAAP
• Deliver consolidated accounts for various entities
• Resolve issues which may prevent meeting deadlines or impact accuracy of reporting for the overall group
• Oversee the intercompany matching process at month end
• Responsible for delivering consolidated reporting and making any necessary adjustments
• Review and sign off monthly consolidation files and reporting schedules
• Deliver cash flow forecasts

Requirements:

• Practice/Audit background
• ACA or ACCA qualified with 2+ years of post-qualified experience
• Strong knowledge of end to end accounting processes
• Previous management experience of a team of 3 or more
• Ability to motivate individuals to ensure deadlines are met
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels within an organisation
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Adaptable and strategic thinker who is capable of multitasking in a busy environment
