Our client is a fast-growing group of creative and marketing agencies, owned by a larger parent company. Working across brand, strategy, and digital channels, the agencies partner with leading global and UK-based clients, delivering award-winning work.

We are now looking for a Financial Controller to join the London HQ and take ownership of financial operations across the group. This is a pivotal, hands-on role reporting into the Group Finance Director of the parent company while working closely with the Managing Directors of the individual agencies. You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, timely reporting, and alignment between the agencies and the parent group.

What you’ll be doing

Financial Operations & Control

• Own and deliver the month-end close across the agencies, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with commentary for agency MDs and the parent company.
• Maintain strong balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany management, and robust internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local reporting requirements.

Audit & Compliance

• Support statutory reporting and act as a key contact for auditors and tax advisors.
• Oversee VAT, payroll, and tax compliance across the group.

Cash Flow & Commercial Insight

• Manage cash flow forecasting and funding requirements.
• Partner with agency MDs to provide financial insight, support decision-making, and drive profitability.

Process Improvement & Systems

• Streamline processes, reporting, and controls across the group to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Support system enhancements and reporting improvements.
• Work closely with MDs and the parent company’s FD, acting as a trusted finance partner.
• Manage and mentor a small finance team, embedding best practice across the agencies.

What we’re looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with solid experience in financial control.
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment, ideally in marketing, media, creative, or professional services.
• Strong technical grounding in reporting, compliance, and controls.
• A proactive, commercial mindset with the ability to partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
• Hands-on and adaptable, able to thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and entrepreneurial business.
