The Opportunity
A high-growth, Private Equity-backed Technology/SaaS business with revenues of £150m and EBITDA of £40m is seeking a Financial Controller to support its ambitious growth agenda. The business continues to deliver strong organic growth while pursuing opportunistic acquisitions, with expansion into European and international markets firmly underway. With a planned exit in three years, this is a pivotal time to join.
The Role
The Financial Controller will lead a team of four within the accounting function, driving standards, accuracy and efficiency, while rolling up their sleeves to ensure high-quality delivery. Alongside this, the role will spearhead ERP optimisation (MS Dynamics 365), support data initiatives (Power BI), oversee payroll projects, and lead the annual group audit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading group financial reporting, statutory accounts and audit.
- Managing and developing a team of four within the accounting function.
- Driving systems optimisation, particularly ERP (MS Dynamics 365) and data/reporting through Power BI.
- Partnering with FP&A and commercial finance teams to deliver insightful, accurate information to the business.
- Supporting integration of acquisitions, ensuring smooth alignment of reporting, controls and processes.
- Overseeing payroll and broader finance projects, raising internal standards and processes.
- Working closely with the Group CFO, with a clear development trajectory to Finance Director.
Requirements
- A recognised professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting skills, with experience leading group reporting and audit.
- Proven leadership experience, managing and developing teams.
- Demonstrable experience with ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365) and reporting/data tools (Power BI).
- Exposure to Private Equity-backed environments, ideally within SaaS, Technology or recurring revenue models.
- Experience in high-growth businesses, with exposure to acquisition integration highly advantageous.
- A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to raise standards and drive improvements.
