Food & Safety Team Leader - EH0298
We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated and results driven individual to lead the Food & Safety team and deliver quality services to our residents and businesses. Possessing an extensive knowledge of the relevant legislation, codes of practice and guidance, you will ensure that the council undertakes and meets all relevant and associated obligations within food safety, health & safety and infectious disease control.
As the Lead Food Officer for the authority, you will be suitably qualified in line with the Food Standards Agency, Food Law Code of Practice and possess detailed knowledge and experience in the field of food safety. Ideally you will also have experience in a supervisory role however we would be able to support someone looking to take their first step into a more senior position.
You should be committed to delivering excellent customer service and building and maintaining effective relationships with officers, members and other key stakeholders and partners to resolve problems effectively. Excellent communication, negotiation and mediation skills are essential.
You will be able to demonstrate a track record of dealing with complex cases, contributing to business process improvement, and leading by example.
The position will comprise a hybrid style of working, as a mix of both home and office-based working, to suit the work / life balance of the successful applicant.
